Chef Dammy, an Ekiti-based Nigerian chef, was arrested by police officers from AIG Zone 17 in Akure on Thursday, November 23, 2023, following a petition filed against her by her pastor, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah.
According to reports, Chef Dammy was interrogated by the police and later released on bail. The spokesperson for Zone 17, DSP Hakeem, confirmed the arrest and release of Chef Dammy, stating that she was invited for interrogation following a petition filed against her.
Chef Dammy had previously raised the alarm over alleged threats and intimidation from individuals she tagged “people of God” and her pastor, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah. She had also accused the pastor of trying to extort money from her.
The arrest of Chef Dammy has sparked outrage on social media, with many people calling for the police to investigate the matter thoroughly. Some have also accused the pastor of abusing his power and using the police to intimidate Chef Dammy.
